[Abstract] Objective To investigate the effects of Huolong pot therapy on shoulder pain and sleep quality in patients with shoulder obstruction of Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis type after tuberculous empythorax surgery. Methods A total of 112 patients with shoulder arthralgia of Qi deficiency and blood stasis who underwent tuberculous empythorma in thoracic surgery in our hospital from July 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected, and 56 patients who received routine treatment from July 2021 to July 2022 were set as the control group. From August 2022 to December 2023, 56 patients receiving adjuvant treatment with dragon pot therapy were the experimental group. Clinical manifestations, TCM syndrome scores, and Constant-Murley Shoulder Outcome Score before and after treatment were collected using the hospital electronic medical record system. CMS), Fugl-Meyer Assessment Upper-Extremity Section (FMA-UE), pain score index (Visual Analogue Scale, FMA-UE) VAS, Present Pain Intensity (PPI), and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores. Results After treatment, the clinical effect of Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis type shoulder arthralgia in both groups was good, the TCM syndrome scores were reduced, the shoulder joint function and upper limb function recovered well, and the curative effect of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, shoulder joint pain was significantly relieved, sleep quality was significantly improved, VAS, PSI and PSQI scores were decreased, and the recovery of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The use of Huolongtin therapy can effectively treat Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis type shoulder arthralgia in patients with tuberculous empythorax after thoracic surgery. It can restore the function of shoulder joint and upper limb, reduce pain and improve sleep quality, and provide a new treatment option for Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis type shoulder arthralgia patients. |
